Health and Employment Challenge (DES): An innovative service from France Travail entrusted to Solerys

Nearly 900,000 jobseekers are facing one or more physical or mental health issues that limit or even prevent their return to work.

Solerys, a specialist in career development and transition, has been awarded the Défi Santé Emploi (DES) contract, securing 20 out of 27 lots, for an 18-month term subject to renewal, and will begin rolling out the service in March 2026.

What exactly is Défi Santé Emploi?

It is the new France Travail service that succeeds and replaces Parcours Emploi Santé (PES). It consists of supporting jobseekers in drawing up a clear assessment of their state of health in relation to their career plans and, where necessary, providing assistance with the steps involved in accessing healthcare and employment.

Who is it for?

Any jobseeker who reports a health issue hindering their return to work.

The objectives?

To help jobseekers recognise the impact of their health situation on their return to work, to overcome barriers linked to their perception of their health, and to obtain medical and social advice to identify working environments and conditions compatible with their health situation and transferable skills.

How does it work?

The nurse acts as the first point of contact for establishing a diagnosis, with a choice of two modules, and/or arranging support with healthcare procedures. Appointments are also offered with specialist healthcare professionals, psychologists, ergonomists or social workers.
